Under Deb's leadership our township board and commissions have undertaken the following initiatives and projects in the last 3 years;

Annual budget savings of over $600,000.  How much is that over a four year term?  Over $2.4 Million dollars eliminated from spending!

In the last three years, Deb has partnered and led the community in bringing over $600,000 dollars into township departments with grants for projects to make our community a better place to live.

Cutting spending and increasing funds brought into our township means that she "held the line on taxes" while expanding services for our residents.

  • Implemented full transparency on all money spent in our township for the public to view
  • Achieved streamlining and greater efficiencies in government through right-sizing our workforce
  • Partnered with other townships for services
  • Committed to increase spending on road maintenance
  • Worked hard to combat blight and enforce our codes
  • Implemented several beautification efforts: new sidewalks, facade improvement programs, and our new bicycle path
  • Increased communications developing a semi annual township newsletter
  • Revived and renewed our Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Brought the first non motorized pathway to our township
  • Updated a new Master Plan.
  • Consolidated our space use and moved township offices into one location with Police and Fire Services

How Successful Results Are Achieved...

To obtain community support you need to seek it out, enlist the support of groups and organizations and ask people their opinions; find ways to engage people get people involved and build consensus.  This process was used to formulate long range planning for the downtown and our new master plan.

We went above and beyond to solicit input before the fact and before the public hearings and went right to the first step of inception and ideas, from there a foundation was built by engaging the public and giving our citizens ownership of the plan from the first moment.

Our finished product is not the result of a handful of officials deciding the best fate for the township, but the people themselves having input from the onset.  From farmers to businessman, downtown resident to rural persons, each had a say in the project and a voice to their concern.  Our finished product is something that each and every citizen can be proud of and point to and say, "I had a role in this."
This is governance at its highest form, it's what people should expect and demand from their officials.
