What Does A Township Supervisor Do?

Business Administration.  A supervisor in a township is what a business administrator is to business.  Sharing day to day operations with the Clerk and Treasurer's office the office of the Supervisor is the one that residents usually look to first for problems they are experiencing and turn to for help.  The supervisor needs to be accessible and responsive to the needs of the citizens.
_Resource and Consensus Builder.  A supervisor needs to be a consensus builder and a leader that sets the pace for moving the township forward.  She will strive to include all of the positive elements of the community together as they work toward common goals.  She will enlist the assistance of the business community, the non-profit service clubs, the school district and other clubs, groups and organizations to achieve common shared vision.

The most effective leader
understands that their service to the
community is a responsibility
to move the community forward.

_Community Champion. A supervisor is the champion of the community and works toward promotion of the community within the context of the greater region as a whole.   She will work to create positive relationships with neighboring communities and keep a regional mindset even at the local level.
